Location & Hours
Park goers can visit Silver Springs State Park through two locations: the main and camping entrances. The main entrance, 5656 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Silver Springs, FL 34488, leads to boat tours, kayak rentals, hiking paths, and headsprings. The camping entrance, 1425 N.E. 58th Ave., Silver Springs, FL 34488, consists of the campgrounds, Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center, and a kayak launch site.
The park operates from 8:00 a.m. to sundown on a daily basis. Glass bottom boat tours run until 6:00 p.m. and the last paddling rental is at 4:00 p.m. The Silver River Museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, visit the official website of Silver Springs State Park here.

Glass Bottom Boat Tours

Marvel at an array of majestic creatures during a glass bottom boat tour. This boat program has been revealing the underwater world of Silver River since the 1870s. Discover a vast ecosystem brimming with manatees, fish, turtles, alligators, and more. Spot different Native American and Spanish artifacts, as well as movie props from Hollywood films. Visitors can choose between a 30-minute tour or an extended excursion. While a reservation isn’t required for a 30-minute tour, it’s highly recommended to purchase your tickets in advance.
Paddling

Travel through Silver Springs State Park with rental canoes, stand-up paddle boards, and kayaks. Stretching for five miles, the Silver River is a glimmering spectacle that offers paddling under thick canopies of trees. Visitors can choose from a variety of rental programs, including hourly excursions, as well as out-and-back trips. It is also permitted to bring your own personal vessel with a $4 launch fee.
Hiking

Venture through winding trails and interconnected paths throughout the park, spotting various birds and more. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy strolling along the Creek Trail–a ¾-mile loop that leads to the Half-Mile Creek. For a more difficult path, walk through the Spring Connector Trail, which is a 4.1-mile round trip that connects the main entrance of the park to the Silver River Museum. Moderate paths include the Swamp and River trails, which range between one and two miles.

Silver Springs State Park includes plenty of modern amenities, ranging from an outdoor concert venue at a historic mansion and multiple campsites to a food truck and picnic pavilions. Taking a break from your outdoor adventure? Grab a bite at the Springside Café, which serves hamburgers, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and even beer and wine! Cabins are available with conveniences such as a dining area, kitchenware, and an outdoor campfire ring. Park goers can access the Friends Welcome Center and the Discovery Center for a great gift shop and more information about Silver Springs State Park during hours of operation.

Silver Springs State Park is a winter sanctuary for manatees and can be spotted through a paddling activity or a glass bottom boat tour. The best months to view the manatees run from November to March. Check in on the cams at the park anytime to see if you can spot one.
