Area 3 Special Olympics Equestrian Competition
Overview
The Area 3 Special Olympics Equestrian Competition will be at the Florida Horse Park Saturday February 8th. English and Western divisions are offered with a variety of classes and levels. The horses used for competition have all been trained for therapeutic riding. The Special Olympic events help athletes discover determination in struggle, joy in winning, strength in loss, and encourages athletes to chase their dreams. Twenty different sports are offered throughout the year, so athletes have the opportunity to compete year-round and enjoy a variety of sports.
The event will start at 8:30 and continue until about 3:00. Volunteers are always needed to help with breakdown and set up, lunch distribution, gate-keepers, ring stewards, and presenting awards. Please contact Zoe LoSasso at zoelosasso@sofl.org if you’re interested in volunteering.
