Liberty Community Park
Overview
Liberty Community Park was named by the public through a park naming contest. The property was purchased and developed for $639,777 using the Pennies for Parks bond referendum. It was purchased from the Ochlerking and Welber families, who only agreed to sell their property if it was going to be used "forever as a park." Construction of the park began in 2004 with the installation of pavilions, playground equipment, restrooms and a stabilized parking area. Additional improvements including a paved walking trail, picnic pavilion and open play field suitable for baseball, soccer and football were completed in 2014.
Pavilions are available for private group functions including birthday parties and corporate outings. To rent a pavilion, please call 352-671-8560.
