Overview
The Florida Thoroughbred Breeders' and Owners' Association is a non-profit representing more than 1,300 Thoroughbred breeders and owners who breed, raise, train and race horses born in Florida. FTBOA is responsible for promoting and marketing Florida's Thoroughbred industry throughout the country and around the world.
With the area’s year-round moderate climate, mineral-rich water and soil, outstanding facilities and strong support industries, Horsemen are drawn to Ocala/Marion County. More than 75 percent of Florida’s horse farms are located in Ocala/Marion County.
At the headquarters in Ocala, travelers and residents can visit FTBOA’s Museum and Gallery. The Museum features the history and promotion of the Florida thoroughbred in the Horse Capital of the World, Ocala/Marion County. The museum features trophies won my legendary Ocala thoroughbreds, memorabilia from past Kentucky Derby and Triple Crown winners and beautiful art.
