WHAT: "Celtic Connection" Concerts by John O'Conner WHEN: Saturday, February 21, 2009–7:30 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 – 3:00 p.m. WHERE: Ocala Breeders' Sales Auditorium 1701 SW 60th Avenue Ocala, FL 34474 Internationally renowned Irish pianist John O'Conner will return to Ocala February 21 and 22. He will perform Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3—considered the composer's grandest concerto—along with Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave), the Overture to MacBeth and a set of traditional Irish folk songs. Hailed as a "Poet of the Piano" O'Conner has performed around the world as a soloist and with such famous orchestras as the London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony, Sapporo Symphony, the National Symphony of Ireland and many others. He has created many acclaimed recordings and secured a reputation as one of the premier interpreters of Beethoven. Tickets cost $30 each for adults and $10 for students.
